Andrew Lang was a Scottish writer, but spent most of his life in London, returning to St. Andrew’s in the winters, during his later years. Lang was educated at Edinburgh Academy, St. Andrews and Merton College Oxford. Andrew Lang was an extremely popular journalist in his day, writing for the Longman’s magazine and the Daily News. His books span a wide range of anthropological subjects, and include such works as Custom and Myth, The Making of Religion and many fairy stories (including on the Literary Classics book collection - see below).
